Farah Adeed is Lecturer in International Relations at University of Management and Technology (UMT), Sialkot. He is interested in democratization in South Asia, modernization theory, identity politics, Islamic political thought and feminism. He studied Political Science and Sociology from University of the Punjab, Lahore-Pakistan. In recognition of his continuing excellence in Bachelor and Master of Political Science, he was awarded Dr. Hassan Askari Rizvi Excellence Award and Dr. Munir ud Din Chughtai Award by the department of Political Science.
Mr. Adeed has been working as Assistant Editor with Global Village Space (GVS), an online news portal and a monthly magazine of politics and current affairs, since 2017. The magazine, which is distributed among the Pakistani diaspora living in the US, UK and Europe, is published by prominent Pakistani political analyst, Dr. Moeed Pirzada, from Islamabad. Mr. Adeed also worked as Media Consultant with Extreme Commerce, a platform that joins different stakeholders of e-commerce and trains youngsters in the sector.
Mr. Adeed has presented papers in many national as well as international conferences on themes ranging from identity politics to democratization in South Asia. In 2018, he was the only Pakistani who got selected as young scholar to represent Pakistan at Bali Democracy Forum in Indonesia where he presented a paper on Challenges to Democracy in Pakistan.
Mr. Adeed frequently writes for The Nation, Daily Times, Express Tribune, The Quint and many other leading English language newspapers and online publications. Besides, he has delivered talks and lectures on identity politics, women rights and democratization at universities like UMT, Jamia Naeemia Lahore and University of Peshawar. He has also worked as researcher and editorial head in several Higher Education Commission (HEC) funded projects. He recently completed an HEC funded project on the dynamics and scope of sectarianism in Punjab with Dr. Rehana Saeed Hashmi, Associate Professor of Political Science at PU, as Editorial Head.

  • Presented a paper titled Culture, Politics and Democracy: Exploring the case of Pakistan in an International Conference organized by University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan (2019).
