Program Introduction

Modern radiology is a highly diversified and vast field consisting of such diverse areas such as – Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine. The Medical Imaging Scientists, as they are commonly called, work in all these areas of radiological sciences, discharging their duties often at tertiary level medical centers, teaching hospitals and academic research centers.

These highly trained and specialized professionals work with patients undergoing procedures such interventional angiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, doppler scanning and ultrasonography. Thus, they are a key part of health care delivery team in any modern hospital set up.

The modern Radiology Department is equipped with some of the most modern and sophisticated medical equipment in any hospital. At specialized and large medical centers and tertiary care teaching hospitals, the capital cost of this department can run into hundreds of millions of rupees. These professionals discharge key responsibilities, often working with the patients and the specialist physicians (radiologists, radiation therapists, and ultrasonographers) of these departments.

Duration: 4 years

Entry Requirements: Minimum 50% marks in Intermediate (Pre-Medical) / A-Level (Biology Mandatory) or equivalent and no 3rd division in Matriculation.
50% marks in entry test
