The semester system regulations as being followed and enforced presently will also be applicable at the post-graduate level. The policies for MSEE program are the following:
- The requirement for the completion of the MS program is a minimum of 30 credit hours. Each MS course is of 03 credit hours. The MS thesis is of 06 credit hours. Thus, the requirement to complete the MS degree is 08 courses and a Thesis OR 10 courses.
- If an MS course has a required pre-requisite and a student admitted to the post-graduate program does not have that pre-requisite, then he must complete that pre-requisite at the undergraduate level before he can enroll for the MS course.
- Students may not register for more than 03 courses in one semester.
- A student can register for his thesis only with the post-graduate faculty members of the department of Electrical Engineering.
- A co-supervisor can be selected from another department of UMT (Lahore/Sialkot Campus) or from another University of repute or from the industry (PEC registered Engineers only) through the approval of Head of Department.
The MSEE program is offered under the following two options:
- Plan-A: Thirty credit hours including a six credit hours’ thesis
- Plan-B: Thirty credit hours of course work.

Admission Requirements:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline with Specialization in Power, Electronics & Telecommunication.
- Must be a registered PEC Engineer.
- Should have cleared the panel interview by the team of experts from UMT (Sialkot).
