Prof. Dr. Shahid J. Butt (Director Academics, UMT Sialkot Campus) participated in a workshop on Collaboration for Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Research (CFETR) held at George Mason University (GMU) in Fairfax, Virginia, USA, during September, 2016.
The objective of CFETR is to encourage and reinforce person-to-person ties between the U.S. and Pakistan through faculty interactions, joint research and scholarly work to facilitate the aggregate comprehension of successful educational practices providing more exposure to the research capabilities.
These activities are designed to expand academic capacity and infuse cross-cultural knowledge and international mindedness into educational practice.
Dr. Shahid Javed has been indulged in the following activities during the workshop.
- He attended series of interactive sessions with the participants in groups.
- He also had a meeting with Dr. Ellen Drogin (Associate Dean, Student and Academic Affairs) to find the possibility of collaboration with Sialkot campus as a research partner for the enhancement of teaching and training.
- He also attended few of the classes of Undergraduate, Graduate and Ph.D. scholars and got excellent opportunity to learn the rubric strategies for the students’ learning in the classes.
