Biotechnology is the study of biological processes of industry. It deals with the use of animals, plants and microorganisms to produce new products or methods. This discipline caters to pharmaceutical and agriculture industry to produce foods and medicine, control pests and diseases, and protect the environment. The BS Biotechnology program has been developed to equip undergraduates with an understanding of the fundamental principles of the discipline, and experimental techniques and methods to help them solve complex problems.
