Institute of Applied Sciences at University of Management & Technology (UMT), Sialkot campus introduced new degree program BS Agribusiness Management & Technology. This step was undertaken as agriculture sector is becoming rapidly commercialized and entails many modern concepts like Agribusiness Technology, Seed Technology, Weed Technology, Supply Chain Management, SME Management, WTO etc. It was considered imperative that these concepts be taught to students in a broader perspective of the subject of management and technology. As such, the old age domestic agricultural marketing system needs transformation and revival to meet challenges of trade liberalization at global level. The quality of research and makeup of trained manpower in the fields of Agribusiness Management & Technology underlines the need for looking seriously various aspects of the subject so as to be able to meet the challenges of 21st century.
Vision
To offer degree programs in emerging fields fulfilling the needs of the knowledge based economy like Agribusiness Management and Biotechnology. The focus of the programs will be both on business aspects as well as on technology.
Mission
To produce technology professionals, entrepreneurs and managers who will either launch their own companies or will work at startups and established companies in new business ventures in the agriculture and livestock sectors.
